Frequently Asked Questions

Cut glass using a brand new diamond blade saw, with oiled edges. We recommend using Glassmaster, a glue made especially for glass.
Porcelain is fired at a higher temperature than ceramic, making it a little stronger. Also porcelain is usually a through body color (meaning the color is cooked into the tile as opposed to being a glaze on top). We recommend porcelain for floors, though ceramic is sufficient as long as it is intalled correctly, and on a level surface.
A larger tile generally makes the space look larger, a smaller tile can have a "busy" feel. It's really about proportion, and personal preference. Laying the tiles in a diamond pattern, as opposed to a grid pattern has an optical illusion effect, opening up a small floor space, making it appear larger. (We suggest ordering an extra 20% for the diamond pattern - for the cuts and waste. **For regular orders - we suggest ordering an extra 10% for cuts and waste.)
