Glass tiles are an exciting product from Bella Tile that can add a splash of color to your space, as an accent, or for an entire wall to create an interesting and unique display. Luminous, light-catching glass is one of the most versatile materials for interior design, bringing an impression of depth to any surface although typically used for walls.

Glass has a chameleon-like quality that swings from old-world craftsmanship to sleekly modern depending on its format, color, composition, finish, and degree of translucency.

Glass is heat-resistant, easy to maintain (with hot water and a non-abrasive cleaner), and impervious to moisture and chemicals. Because of this, it is highly suitable for a wide range of applications, including kitchens, bathrooms, building facades, boardrooms, and spas.  At Bella Tile, we have a wide variety of options on display in our showroom.

Glass Origins

Glass tiles have become popular for many uses. This trend can be attributed to recent technological breakthroughs, as well as the tiles’ inherent properties, in particular their ability to impart intense color and reflect light, and their imperviousness to water.

A variety of modern glass tile technologies, including methods to reuse old glass, has resulted in a resurgence in glass tile usage for floors and walls.

In the late 1990s, special glass tiles have been coated on the back-side with a receptive white coating. This allows impregnation of heat-transfer dyes by a printing process reproducing high-resolution pictures and designs.

Custom printed glass tile and glass tile murals exhibit the toughness of glass on the wearing surface with photo-like pictures.
